| So I am a southern transplant to the north. So far my first winter here has been hell on my hair and skin and its only December! All the in and out of heated indoors and cold outdoors is rough. I'm making do with moisturizer and lotion for my skin but my hair is turning into an unmanageable frizzball. Any products or advice on keeping my hair behaving? My normal routine is to wash & condition hair about every other day. Products: mousse always, leave in conditioner sometimes, hairspray sometimes.

| O HAY GUYS.
So.
I've posted here once or twice before. I have curly hair and I love the hell out of it. It used to drive me to tears back when I used to think it was just thick/poofy/frizzy/plain old shitty hair, but then a few years ago I realized that there were actually curls lurking underneath the rat's nest. I learned how to take care of them and got a shorter cut. This was the result:

And then this year, for reasons not entirely known to myself, I decided that I wanted to grow it long. This is the result (and the most current pix of my hair):

I'm due for a cut soon and need more layers, etc., but that's not the point. The point is that my hair has now reached a point where it is completely unmanageable. I'm a rough sleeper. Every single morning, I wake up with matted knots in my hair the size of fists. Sometimes it's so bad that I can't even get a comb through it in the shower. WHAT DO I DO?!
I've tried keeping it in a pony-tail, but somehow that just makes it worse. The knots form where the scrunchie/hair tie/whatever meets my skull, inexplicably leaving the curliness intact. Also: Pony-tails, buns, scarves, etc. give me migraines because I have a stupidly sensitive scalp and a lot of hair. So there's that.
Do you guys have any suggestions? Specific shampoos or sprays or conditioners or some pagan God I can pray to to help manage this mess??!?
I love love love love LOVE my hair long. I'm seriously delighted with it. I would love to keep it this way, but if I don't come up with something soon, I'm going to have to cut it again. asdf;ajsf;ajf so annoying!

| Hey girls!
So I have been frantically trying to find the captivating curls half gel half moose product at my local grocery store and have found that it is in the process of being discontinued! I just found the product that I love and now its gone!
With that said, does anyone use something similar to this or had to make the switch? What should I use instead? I want something with the great hold without the crunch that this stuff had. Also, I'm a college student, so something cheap I can get at Meijer is optimal.

| I let my stylist cut my hair by about 2 inches into this pseudo-fro. Thanks to windy Boston, the damp curls became delightfully mussed about my neck as soon as I walked out of the salon- at home, I usually use a leave in conditioner to get more definition and fewer frizzy flyaways, but as I am spending the evening working on some holiday plans, I think I'll keep this zanier look. =)
